Live Music: Pete McDonough
Pete McDonough has been studying and performing acoustic blues
for 50 years. His performances take listeners on a journey through
the American tradition of acoustic blues, from the Piedmont to the
Delta, and include current approaches to fingerstyle guitar.
He participated in the production of Harlem Street Singer, an award-
winning documentary about the music of Rev. Gary Davis, and wrote
the biographies of 25 blues legends for The Complete Acoustic Blues
Method, by Woody Mann.
He has recorded two CDs for Huckelberry Music, “Fat in Paris and
Other People’s Blues” (2017) and most recently, “An Autumn
Afternoon,” released in January 2024. He also appears on
“Southside Saturday Night,” a compilation of performances at the
legendary Godfrey Daniels Coffee House in Bethlehem, Pa.
